Many utility companies include minimum fees and surcharges on your bill that are not related to your energy consumption. In those areas, these fixed fees will still show up on your utility bill even if your panels produce 100% of the energy you use.

The Powerwall can work independently from a solar system if it’s connected to the grid. In the event that the grid is down for a prolonged period of time, the Powerwall unit would not be able to charge without a solar system. To take full advantage of your Powerwall battery, we recommend pairing it with solar panels to decrease both your dependence on utility companies and reduce your energy bills.
